BACKGROUND
A 72-year-old patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus presents to the hospital with malaise, a temperature of 101°F, and painful cellulitic ulcers on both heels. Radiographs of the heels were obtained.
Hint
Notice the erosion of the bone at the bottom of the calcanei.
